Philadelphia Stars bring back RB Dexter Williams and sign two more players

On Thursday, the Philadelphia Stars re-signed running back Dexter Williams along with defensive tackles Jordan Scott and Tyler Clark.

Dexter Williams, a 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida, played in the USFL Championship game with eight carries for 29 yards and four catches for 73 yards. He recently attended the Green Bay Packers training camp. Williams was drafted by the Arlington Renegades (XFL) but elected to return to the Philadelphia Stars.

The Green Bay Packers drafted Williams in the sixth round (194th pick) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Green Bay (2019-20) with seven carries for 19 yards in seven games. After Green Bay, he was on the practice squad with the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins.

Williams played four seasons at Notre Dame (2015-19) with 257 carries for 1,636 yards, 20 touchdowns, 22 catches for 162 yards, and two touchdowns in 38 games. Williams led the Fighting Irish in his senior year with 995 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games.

Jordan Scott, a 24-year-old from Largo, Florida, joins the Stars after spending time on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. Scott signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2021. Collegiately, Scott played four seasons at Oregon (2017-20) with 109 tackles, four sacks, and one pass breakup in 47 games. He started 37 of the last 38 games in three seasons and is a two-time Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention selection by the coaches.

Tyler Clark, a 24-year-old from Americus, Georgia, joins the Stars after spending time at the Washington Commanders training camp. Clark signed with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent. Collegiately, Clark played four seasons at Georgia (2016-19) with 119 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 54 games.

He helped the Bulldogs win three SEC East titles and three straight New Year’s Six Bowl games (2018 Rose, 2019 Allstate Sugar, 2020 Allstate Sugar). In addition, Clark was selected to the All-SEC 2nd Team in 2019.
