On Saturday afternoon at SECU Stadium, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-8, 1-8 CONF) wrapped up the 2022 season with a 37-0 shutout loss to the Maryland Terrapins (7-5, 4-5 CONF).
Rutgers quarterback Gavin Wimsatt was 5/13 for 48 yards, and quarterback Evan Simon went 3/9 for 24 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai had ten carries for 45 yards, and tight end Johnny Langan had one catch for 27 yards. Rutgers’ defense allowed 513 yards, with 73 tackles, five sacks, and eight pass breakups.
Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was 25/37 for 342 yards and one touchdown. Running back Roman Hemby had 19 carries for 70 yards, and three touchdowns, while wide receiver Jeshaun Jones had nine catches for 152 yards and one touchdown. Maryland’s defense allowed 72 yards, with 46 tackles and three sacks.
