Calgary Stampeders

On Monday, the Calgary Stampeders re-signed defensive back Bailey Devine-Scott, linebacker Ryan Gomes, and offensive lineman Keanu Ebanks.

Bailey Devine-Scott, a 24-year-old from Wattle Grove, Australia, had four tackles in three games for the Stampeders this year. Calgary drafted Devine-Scott in the third round (25th pick) in the 2022 CFL Global Draft.

Collegiately, Devine-Scott played three seasons at Western New England University (2018-19, 2021) with 133 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, 16 pass breakups, and one block on special teams in 24 games.

Ryan Gomes, a 24-year-old from Pineville, North Carolina, was on the Stampeders’ practice squad before being activated in the season finale against Saskatchewan but did not play. Calgary drafted Gomes in the second round (12th pick) in the 2022 CFL Global Draft.

Gomes was raised in Brazil and played collegiate football at Mexico’s Universidad de las Americas Puebla. After college, the Ottawa Redblacks drafted Gomes in the 2021 CFL Global Draft but was released on May 20th, 2021.

Keanu Ebanks, a 28-year-old from Leeds, England, was on the Stampeders’ practice squad in 2022. Ebanks signed with the Stampeders on March 10th, 2022.

Ebanks played for the Hamburg Sea Devils (European League of Football) in 2021, helping the Sea Devils reach the ELF Championship game against the Frankfort Galaxy, and was named to the EFL’s all-star team.
