On Sunday at the Adelaide Parklands Circuit in South Australia, the Repco Supercars Championship held its final race of the season with Race 34 of the VALO Adelaide 500. In addition, this was the last race for the manufacturer Holden.
Anton De Pasquale in the Shell V-Power Racing Team started on the pole and finished in third place. Meanwhile, his teammate, Will Davison, started second but had plenty of problems throughout the race including nearly running into the fence at turn 11. He finished in 19th place.
Broc Feeney of Red Bull Ampol Racing took the lead on lap 24 and never looked back, beating a charging Chaz Mostert by .964 seconds to win the final race for Holden. The 20-year-old became the second full-time driver to win a race and became the second youngest driver to win a race.
Scott McLaughlin was 19 when he won at Pukekohe. Meanwhile, Shane van Gisbergen did burnouts as he celebrated clinching the 2022 Repco Supercars championship.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Anton De Pasquale third, Cameron Waters third, Andre Heimgartner fourth, Will Brown fifth, Shane van Gisbergen sixth, Brodie Kostecki seventh, Lee Holdsworth eighth, James Golding ninth, and Mark Winterbottom tenth.
