The Montreal Alouettes and long snapper Pierre-Luc Caron agreed to a two-year contract extension on Wednesday that runs through the 2024 season. The 29-year-old from Laval, Quebec, had four tackles on special teams in 18 games during the 2022 season.
This will be Caron’s seventh year in the CFL and third for the Alouettes. The Calgary Stampeders drafted Caron in the fifth round (42nd pick) in the 2016 CFL Draft. He played 71 games for the Stampeders with one tackle, including winning the Grey Cup in 2018.
“Pierre-Luc does work that often goes unnoticed, but he allows our special teams to be even better”, said General Manager Danny Maciocia. “He is a veteran of several years in the CFL, and we are happy to have him again for several seasons. He has an endearing personality, and his energy is contagious.”
Caron played four seasons at the University of Laval (2012-15) with 34 tackles on special teams in 24 games for Laval. In his freshman year, Caron had six tackles, 14 tackles in his sophomore year, 6.5 tackles in his junior season, and 7.5 tackles in his senior year.
