Eagles manhandle Giants to clinch a playoff spot

On a rainy Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium, the Philadelphia Eagles (12-1) routed the New York Giants (7-5-1) with a 48-22 win to clinch a playoff spot.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts made 21 of 31 completions for 217 yards, two touchdowns, seven carries for 77 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Miles Sanders had 17 carries for 144 yards, eclipsing the 1,000-yard rushing yard mark and two touchdowns.

Wide receivers A.J. Brown (4 catches, 70 yards, one touchdown) and DeVonta Smith (5 catches, 64 yards, one touchdown) combined for nine catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

Philadelphia’s defense allowed 304 yards, with 64 tackles, seven sacks, and three pass breakups. The Eagles did lose linebacker Kyron Johnson (shoulder), safety Reed Blankenship (knee), and punter Arryn Siposs (ankle) to injuries.

New York quarterback Daniel Jones made 18 of 27 completions for 169 yards, one touchdown, four carries for 26 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Saquon Barkley had nine carries for 28 yards, while wide receivers Richie James (7 catches, 61 yards, one touchdown) and Isaiah Hodgins (4 catches, 38 yards, one touchdown) combined with 11 catches for 99 yards, and two touchdowns.
