The Ottawa Redblacks and wide receiver Nate Behar agreed to a two-year contract extension on Friday. The 28-year-old from London, Ontario, had 59 catches for 727 yards, and two touchdowns in 13 games. This will be Behar’s fourth season in Ottawa.
“I’m committed to this organization, this city, and RNation. I’m committed to the vision of Coach Dyce and Burkey,” Behar said. “Getting this contract figured out for two more years of playing in the Capital is the best Holiday present I’ve ever had! Let’s build this thing!”
In three seasons with the Redblacks, Behar has 113 catches for 1,335 yards, two touchdowns, and two carries for three yards in 44 games. Before Ottawa, Behar spent two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos (now Elks) with 27 catches for 257 yards, and one touchdown in 30 games. The Eskimos drafted Behar in the first round (5th pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft.
Collegiately, Behar played four seasons at Carleton University (2013-16) with 178 catches for 2,577 yards, 21 touchdowns, three carries for 17 yards, three kick returns for 32 yards, and three punt returns for 12 yards in 29 games.
