On Friday night at the Colisée Vidéotron, the Reading Royals (14-6-1) started a two-game road trip with a 2-0 shutout win over the Trois-Rivieres Lions (11-10-1). It was the Royals’ second straight win and are now 8-2 in the last ten games.
Fifteen minutes and seven seconds into the first period, the Royals took a 1-0 lead with a goal by Brendan Hoffmann (3) with assists from Jordan Timmons and Jacob Gaucher.
After a scoreless second period, the Royals put the game away thirteen minutes and thirty-eight seconds of the third period with a goal by Jacob Gaucher (5) with an assist by Jordan Timmons for a 2-0 win.
The Royals finished the night with 26 shots, 0/2 on the power play, and Pat Nagle made 26 saves. It was Nagle’s 18th career shutout of his career, which moves him into a tie for sixth place in ECHL history. On the other side, the Lions had 26 shots, 0/6 on the power play, and Philippe Desrosiers made 24 saves.
