The Calgary Stampeders signed former University of Montreal running back Ryth-Jean Giraud on Monday. The 26-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, played safety at Lincoln University (CA) in the 2022 season with 21 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions in eight games.

Ryth-Jean Giraud played three seasons at the University of Montreal (2018-19, 2021) as a running back with 142 carries for 823 yards, five touchdowns, 35 catches for 394 yards, two touchdowns, and nine kick returns for 1,410 yards in 17 games.

The Montreal Alouettes drafted Giraud in the fifth round (42nd pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. He played two preseason games with one carry for two yards, one touchdown, one punt return for six yards, one kick return for 21 yards, and two defensive tackles.
