On Tuesday evening at Protective Stadium. The East Carolina Pirates (AAC) defeated the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (Sun Belt) by the final score of 53-29 in the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl.

East Carolina quarterback Holton Ahlers completed 26 of 38 passes for 300 yards, five touchdowns, seven carries for 48 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Keaton Mitchell had 22 carries for 127 yards, one touchdown, and two catches for 15 yards.

Wide receivers C.J. Johnson (7 catches, 83 yards, 1 touchdown), Isaiah Winstead (6 catches, 72 yards, 2 touchdowns), Jaylen Johnson (5 catches, 66 yards, 1 touchdown), and tight end Shane Calhoun (2 catches, 37 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with 20 catches for 258 yards, and five touchdowns.

East Carolina’s defense allowed 337 yards, with 64 tackles and four sacks. The Pirates finishes the season at 8-5.

Coastal Carolina quarterback Jarrett Guest completed six of 11 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown. Backup quarterback Grayson McCall completed ten of twelve passes for 67 yards.

Running backs Reese White (11 carries, 57 yards, 1 touchdown), CJ Beasley (5 carries, 13 yards, 1 touchdown), and Grayson McCall (4 carries, 12 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with 20 carries for 82 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receivers Sam Pinckney (4 catches, 79 yards) and Tyler Roberts (1 catch, 47 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with five catches for 126 yards, and one touchdown.

Coastal Carolina’s defense allowed 486 yards, with 66 tackles, one sack, and four pass breakups. The Chanticleers finishes the season at 9-4.
