The Michigan Panthers (USFL) announced on Wednesday they signed former Philadelphia Eagles running back Josh Adams for the 2023 season. The 26-year-old from Warrington, Pennsylvania, was recently on the New Orleans Saints practice squad.
Adams signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He played one season for the Eagles with 120 carries for 511 yards, three touchdowns, and seven catches for 58 yards in 14 games, of which five were starts.
After being released by the Eagles, Adams signed with the New York Jets in 2019. He played three seasons in New York with 37 carries for 169 yards, two touchdowns, and six catches for 29 yards in 12 games.
Collegiately, Adams played three seasons at Notre Dame (2015-17) with 481 carries for 3,307 yards, 20 touchdowns, 41 catches for 336 yards, and two touchdowns in 38 games. He was a Heisman Trophy Candidate in 2017 after finishing the season with 206 carries for 1,483 yards, nine touchdowns, and 13 carries for 101 yards in 13 games.
