On Friday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium. The Maryland Terrapins (Big Ten) defeated the North Carolina State Wolfpack (ACC) by the final score of 16-12 in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa completed 19 of 37 passes for 221 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and nine carries for three yards. Running back Roman Hemby had 24 carries for 65 yards, and two catches for 22 yards. Wide receiver Octavian Smith Jr. had three catches for 34 yards and one touchdown.
Maryland’s defense allowed 296 yards, with 55 tackles and three pass breakups. The Terrapins finish the season at 8-5.
North Carolina State quarterback Ben Finley completed 22 of 48 passes for 269 yards and two interceptions. Running back Jordan Houston had nine carries for 14 yards, and wide receiver Thayer Thomas made four catches for 54 yards. Kicker Christopher Dunn made four field goals with his longest field goal going for 38 yards.
North Carolina State’s defense allowed 342 yards, with 83 tackles, four sacks, four pass breakups, and two interceptions. The Wolfpack finish the season at 8-5.
