Pittsburgh kicker Ben Sauls makes a game-winning field goal in the Sun Bowl

On Friday afternoon at the Sun Bowl. The Pittsburgh Panthers (ACC) defeated the UCLA Bruins (PAC 12) by the final score of 37-35 in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

Pittsburgh quarterback Nick Patti completed 20 of 41 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and ten carries for 73 yards. Running back Rodney Hammond Jr. had 24 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Wide receivers Bub Means (4 catches, 84 yards, 1 touchdown) and Konata Mumpfield (7 catches, 78 yards) combined with 11 catches for 162 yards, and one touchdown. Kicker Ben Sauls made five field goals, including a game-winning 47-yard field goal.

Pittsburgh’s defense allowed 451 yards, with 53 tackles, three sacks, one pass breakup, and four interceptions. The Panthers finish the season at 9-4.

UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 15 of 23 passes for 270 yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions, five carries for 15 yards, and one touchdown. Running back TJ Harden had 11 carries for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receivers Kam Brown (4 catches, 115 yards) and Titus Mokiao-Atimalala (3 catches, 89 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with seven catches for 204 yards, and one touchdown.

 UCLA’s defense allowed 445 yards, with 81 tackles, one sack, five pass breakups, one interception, and one touchdown. The Bruins finish the season at 9-4.
