Max Balinson scores a goal for the Royals in a 4-2 win over Wheeling

On Friday night at the WesBanco Arena. The Reading Royals (17-8-1) started a four-game road trip with back-to-back games against the Wheeling Nailers (13-14-1).

A minute and nineteen seconds into the first period. Max Balinson (2) put the Royals up 1-0 with assists from Charlie Gerard and Shane Sellar. Two minutes and nineteen seconds later, the Nailers tied it 1-1 on a goal by Samuel Tremblay (2). David Drake and Louie Roehl assisted his goal.

Nine seconds later, the Royals regained the lead. Jacob Gaucher (10) put the Royals back up 2-1 with assists by Brendan Hoffmann and Jordan Timmons. Late in the first period. The Royals extended their lead to 3-1 on a goal by Max Balinson (3) with assists from Jacob Gaucher and Garrett McFadden. It was Balinson’s second goal of the night. The Royals led 3-1 after one period.

Seven minutes and fifty-six seconds into the second period. Brendan Hoffmann (4) scored his fourth goal of the season for a 4-1 lead. Jordan Timmons and Max Balinson assisted his goal. The Royals led 4-1 after two periods.

Fifteen minutes and nineteen seconds into the third period. Justin Addamo (11) scored for the Nailers to cut Reading’s lead to 4-2. Cam Hausinger and Carter Johnson assisted his goal. The Royals won the game by the final score of 4-2.

The Royals finished the night with 27 shots, 0/2 on the power-play, and Josh Boyko made 35 saves. On the other side, the Nailers had 37 shots, 0/3 on the power-play, and Tommy Nappier made 23 saves.
