On Saturday afternoon at State Farm Stadium. The TCU Horned Frogs (Big XII) defeated the Michigan Wolverines (Big Ten) by the final score of 51-45 in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. The Horned Frogs will play the Georgia Bulldogs for the National Championship next Monday.

TCU quarterback Max Duggan completed 14 of 29 passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, 15 carries for 57 yards, and two touchdowns. Running back Emari Demercado had 17 carries for 150 yards and one touchdown. Wide receivers Quentin Johnston (6 catches for 163 yards, 1 touchdown) and Taye Barber (2 catches for 12 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with eight catches for 175 yards, and two touchdowns.

TCU’s defense allowed 527 yards, with 65 tackles, four sacks, six pass breakups, two interceptions, and two touchdowns. TCU are now 13-1 this year.

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy completed 20 of 34 passes for 343 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, ten carries for 52 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Donovan Edwards had 23 carries for 119 yards, and one catch for eight yards. Wide receivers Ronnie Bell (6 catches for 135 yards, 1 touchdown) and Roman Wilson (5 catches for 104 yards, 1 touchdown) combined with 11 catches for 139 yards, and two touchdowns.

Michigan’s defense allowed 488 yards, with 67 tackles, one sack, four pass breakups, and two interceptions. The Wolverines finish the season at 13-1.
