The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former BC Lions defensive back Austin Joyner on Friday. The 25-year-old from Marysville, Washington, made 18 tackles in five games for the Lions in 2021. In 2020, Joyner played for the Alphas of The Spring League.

Collegiately, Joyner played four seasons at Washington (2015-18). He made 56 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and eight kick returns for 98 yards in 29 games for the Huskies.
