The Reading Royals (20-9-1) took on the Worcester Railers (19-13-2) on Saturday night from the Santander Arena.
After a scoreless first period. The Royals struck first eighteen minutes and five seconds into the second period with a goal by Tyler Kirkup (4). Alec Butcher and Shane Sellar assisted with his goal. The Royals led 1-0 after two periods.
Three minutes and twelve seconds into the third period. Shane Sellar (8) extended the Royals’ lead to 2-0. Garrett McFadden and Alec Butcher assisted with his goal. Two minutes and eleven seconds later. Brent Beaudoin (9) scored for the Railers to make it 2-1. Reece Newkirk and Bobby Butler assisted with his goal.
The Royals held on to a 2-1 win to extend their winning streak to three games. The Royals are now 7-3 in their last ten games.
The Royals finish the night with 34 shots, and Nolan Maier made 28 saves. On the other side, the Railers had 29 shots, 0/1 on the power play, and Henrik Tikkanen made 32 saves.
