Kai Gray makes an interception at Rutgers

The Edmonton Elks signed former Lincoln University defensive back Kai Gray on Monday. The 25-year-old from Newark, New Jersey, had 82 tackles, four forced fumbles, seven pass breakups, and one blocked kick in eight games with the Lions in 2022.

Collegiately, Gray started at Rutgers University (2016-17) with 73 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, eight pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 20 games for the Scarlet Knights.

After redshirting at Rutgers in 2018, Gray transferred to Sam Houston State in 2019 with 31 tackles, one interception, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Bearkats.

In 2021, he transferred to Kansas at NAIA Tabor College but did not play a game for the Blue Jays. In 2022, Gray transferred to Lincoln University.
