The Montreal Alouettes signed former East Carolina wide receiver Tyler Snead on Monday. The 22-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, attended training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. Snead played three preseason games for the Steelers with five catches for 27 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for two yards.
Collegiately, Snead played four seasons at East Carolina (2018-21). He caught 201 passes for 2,385 yards, 18 touchdowns, 12 carries for 94 yards, and one touchdown.
In addition, he completed four of six passes for six yards, three touchdowns, 60 kick returns for 1,268 yards, two touchdowns, and 37 punt returns for 260 yards in 37 games for the Pirates. In 2020, Snead was named to the Second-Team All-American Athletic Conference honors as both a receiver and return specialist.
In his senior year, Snead caught 67 passes for 860 yards, four touchdowns, completed three of five passes for 102 yards, two touchdowns, 17 kick returns for 378 yards, and 12 punt returns for 81 yards in 12 games. In 2021, he was named Fourth-Team Preseason All-America.
