Philadelphia Stars re-signs safety Cody Brown and signs LB Jordan Genmark Heath

The Philadelphia Stars re-signed safety Cody Brown and signed former Saskatchewan Roughriders linebacker Jordan Genmark Heath on Wednesday.

Cody Brown, a 28-year-old from Bellville, Texas, made 61 tackles in 12 games for the Stars in 2022. The Stars drafted Brown in the 19th round (152nd pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. Brown returns to the Stars after being drafted by the San Antonio Brahams in the ninth round (63rd pick) in the 2022 XFL Supplemental Draft.

Before joining the Stars, Brown played for the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2020 with 24 tackles, two interceptions, and one sack. Brown also played for the Salt Lake Stallions (AAF) with 33 tackles, five pass breakups, and one interception.

Collegiately, Brown played his first two seasons at Independence Community College with 39 tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups before transferring to Arkansas State after his sophomore year.

He played 25 games in two seasons (2015-16) for the Red Wolves with 128 tackles, 29 interceptions, eight touchdowns, 21 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one block on special teams.

Jordan Genmark Heath, a 25-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden, played two games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Roughriders drafted Heath in the first round (5th pick) in the 2022 CFL Global Draft.

Collegiately, Heath played three seasons at Notre Dame (2017-19) with 42 tackles in 39 games for the Fighting Irish. Then, Heath transferred to UCLA in 2021 with 55 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 12 games with the Bruins.
