Keith Washington Jr. makes an interception for the Breakers against the Stallions

The Toronto Argonauts signed former New Orleans Breakers defensive back Keith Washington Jr. on Wednesday. The 26-year-old from Prattville, Alabama, had 18 tackles and one interception in eight games for the Breakers in 2022. The Breakers drafted Washington in the second round (16th pick) in the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft.

Collegiately, Washington began at Michigan (2015-16) with three tackles in ten games. Then, he transferred to Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2017 with 20 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and five pass breakups in nine games for the Wolves.

After Copiah-Lincoln, Washington transferred to West Virginia (2018-19) with 63 tackles, 1.5 sacks, six interceptions, one touchdown, 24 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 22 games for the Mountaineers.

Afterward, Washington signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He spent two seasons with the Saints before joining the Breakers.
