Royals score three unanswered goals in a win over Adirondack

The Reading Royals (22-10-1) continued their four-game homestand at the Santander Arena on Saturday afternoon. They took on the Adirondack Thunder (10-17-6) for the fifth time this year.

Eleven minutes and twenty-seven seconds into the first period. Shane Harper (7) put the Thunder up 1-0. Shawn Weller and Colin Long assisted with his goal. The Thunder led 1-0 after one period.

After a scoreless second period. The Royals tied the game eight minutes and nine seconds into the third period on a goal by Tyler Kirkup (6). Garrett McFadden and Shane Sellar assisted with his goal. Five minutes and sixteen seconds later. The Royals took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Charlie Gerard (14). Max Newton and Mason Millman assisted with his goal.

Five minutes and forty-five seconds later. The Royals put the game away with an empty net goal by Brendan Hoffmann (5) for a 3-1 lead. The Royals swept the Thunder by the final score of 3-1. It’s the Royals second straight win.

The Royals finished the night with 27 shots, 0/2 on the power play, and Pat Nagle made 37 saves. On the other side, the Thunder had 38 shots, 0/4 on the power play, and Isaac Poulter made 24 saves.
