Toronto Argonauts

The Toronto Argonauts and veteran defensive back Robertson Daniel agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Thursday.

The 31-year-old from Saint Thomas, Virginia, played one game for the Argonauts in 2022 after an injury sidelined him for the majority of the season. This will be Daniel’s third season in Toronto. In 2021, he played two games with six tackles and one interception.

The Argonauts acquired Daniel from the Calgary Stampeders in 2021. In 2019, Daniel played eight games with 21 tackles, six special teams tackles, and three interceptions for the Stampeders.

Collegiately, Daniel played two seasons at De Anza College before transferring to BYU (2013-14) with 110 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 25 games for the Cougars.

After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, Daniel had stints with the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, and Baltimore Ravens.
