The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and fullback Mike Miller agreed to a one-year contract extension on Thursday. The 33-year-old from Riverview, New Brunswick, had two carries for two yards, one touchdown, 16 tackles, and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Blue Bombers in 2022.

Miller will enter his sixth season in Winnipeg and twelfth in the CFL. In 2021, Miller played 14 games with 25 tackles. He helped the Blue Bombers win two Grey Cup championships in 2019 and 2021.

Miller signed with the Edmonton Eskimos as an undrafted free agent in 2011 out of Acadia and played six seasons with 122 tackles and one forced fumble in 104 games. He was a member of the Eskimos’ 2015 Grey Cup championship team.

Miller signed with the Blue Bombers in 2017. In 2019, he had one carry for ten yards and 25 tackles when the Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup. In five seasons in Winnipeg, Miller has three carries for 12 yards, one touchdown, 88 tackles, one touchdown, and one forced fumble in 86 games.

He won numerous awards, including CFLPA All-Star, two-time CFL West All-Star (2019, 2021), West Division Most Outstanding Special Teams Player, Blue Bombers Most Outstanding Canadian, and Blue Bombers Most Outstanding Special Teams Player.

In 190 career games, Miller has three carries for 12 yards, one touchdown, 232 tackles, one touchdown, and one forced fumble. 

Collegiately, Miller played four seasons at Acadia University (2007-10) with 133 tackles which was third all-time in school history. In 2009, he was named Second-Team CIS All-Canadian and AUS All-Star.
