The Calgary Stampeders and defensive back Jonathan Moxey agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Friday. The 28-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, made 28 tackles in 16 games in 2022 for the Stampeders. This will be his fourth season in Calgary.

In 2021, Moxey made 28 tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown in his second season in Calgary. In his rookie season, Moxey played five games with four tackles in 2019. He’s played 34 games with 60 tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown.
Moxey signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent from Boise State and made the practice squad. After Tampa Bay, Moxey was on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad for two seasons.
Collegiately, Moxey four seasons (2013-16) with 134 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, 34 passes breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 12 kick returns for 258 yards, and one punt return for nine yards in 52 games for the Broncos.
In his final season, Moxey had 50 tackles, 13 pass breakups, one punt return for nine yards, and 12 kick returns for 258 yards in 13 games. In 2016, he was named All-Mountain West Second Team.
