The Reading Royals (24-11-1) started a three-game road trip on Saturday night. They took on the Norfolk Admirals (6-29-3) for the sixth time this year from the Norfolk Scope Arena.

Four minutes and three seconds into the first period. Alec Butcher (9) scored to put the Royals up 1-0. Adrien Beraldo assisted with his goal. The Royals led 1-0 after one period.

Two minutes and forty-seven seconds into the second period. Stepan Timofeyev (3) scored for Norfolk to tie the game 1-1. Griffin Lunn and Eric Cooley assisted with his goal. The game remained tied 1-1 after two periods.

Two minutes and thirty-three seconds later. Jacob Gaucher (11) extended the Royals’ lead to 4-1. Alec Butcher assisted with his goal. With 59 seconds left. Garrett McFadden (3) scored a power-play goal for a 5-1 Royals lead. Jacob Gaucher and Evan Barratt assisted with his goal.

The Royals defeated the Admirals by the final score of 5-1. Reading finished the night with 43 shots, 1/7 on the power-play, and Nolan Maier made 17 saves. On the other side, the Admirals had 18 shots, 0/5 on the power-play, and Tomas Vomacka made 38 saves.

The Royals continue their three-game road trip next Wednesday. They will play the Trois-Rivieres Lions from the Colisée Vidéotron at 7 pm.
