The Calgary Stampeders signed former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis on Monday. The 30-year-old from Palm Beach, Florida, last played in 2021 with the Miami Dolphins with one catch for seven yards in a Week 16 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints signed Lewis as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played 12 games in his rookie season with seven catches for 76 yards, and three carries for 11 yards. Lewis played three seasons in New Orleans (2016-18) with 20 catches for 252 yards, two touchdowns, seven carries for 35 yards, 24 kick returns for 528 yards, and 36 punt returns for 335 yards in 34 games.

After New Orleans, Lewis signed with the Detroit Lions and was part of the final roster cuts. Then, he was drafted by the Dallas Renegades (XFL) in the 2020 XFL Draft but never played a game. Shortly after, Lewis returned to the Saints for the second time on their practice squad.

He was elevated to the active roster. Lewis played five games for the Saints in 2020 with one catch for five yards, two carries for 14 yards, three kick returns for 89 yards, and nine punt returns for 69 yards.

Collegiately, Lewis played five seasons at Northern Illinois (2011-15) with 172 catches for 1,680 yards, 11 touchdowns, 71 carries for 578 yards, three touchdowns, 66 kick returns for 1,673 yards, four touchdowns, and 18 punt returns for 135 yards in 49 games for the Huskies.

In his senior season, Lewis had 34 catches for 398 yards, three touchdowns, eight carries for 20 yards, one kick return for 17 yards, and three punt returns for 14 yards in ten games. In 2013, Lewis was an honorable mention All-America honors from SI.com as an all-purpose player after making 86 catches for 715 yards, three touchdowns, 30 carries for 356 yards, one touchdown, 11 kick returns for 312 yards, one touchdown, and six punt returns for 22 yards in 12 games.
