Montreal Alouettes re-sign All-Star DB Wesley Sutton and signs WR Trevon Bradford

The Montreal Alouettes re-signed All-Star defensive back Wesley Sutton to a two-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Monday. In addition, the Alouettes signed former Oregon State wide receiver Trevon Bradford.

Wesley Sutton, a 26-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, had 80 tackles, four sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 18 games for the Alouettes in 2022. This will be Sutton’s third season in Montreal.

In two seasons with the Alouettes, Sutton has 86 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 20 games. In 2020, Sutton played for the New York Guardians (XFL) with 4.5 tackles and one pass breakup in five games.

Collegiately, Sutton played five seasons at Northern Arizona University (2014-18) with 152 tackles, six interceptions, one touchdown, 18 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 42 games for the Lumberjacks. In 2017, he was named All-Big Sky First Team. After going undrafted in 2019, Sutton was invited to the Philadelphia Eagles rookie mini-camp but was not signed to a contract.

Trevon Bradford, a 25-year-old from Oregon City, Oregon, played six seasons at Oregon State (2016-21) with 151 catches for 1,904 yards, 14 touchdowns, 25 carries for 259 yards, one touchdown, three kick returns for 86 yards, and 24 punt returns for 233 yards in 52 games for the Beavers.

In his final season, Bradford had 42 catches for 631 yards, five touchdowns, seven carries for 45 yards, one touchdown, and nine punt returns for 69 yards in 13 games.
