Ottawa Redblacks and fullback Anthony Gosselin agree to a contract extension

The Ottawa Redblacks and fullback Anthony Gosselin agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Monday. The 30-year-old from Otterburn, Quebec, had four catches for 35 yards, and two tackles in 18 games for the Redblacks in 2022. This will be his sixth season in Ottawa.

“Hey RNation, I’m very excited to be back with the Redblacks,” said Gosselin. “I can’t wait to get back on the field in front of our fans and get to work again with Coach Dyce and the rest of the team.”

The Redblacks drafted Gosselin in the second round (18th pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft. In five seasons in Ottawa. Gosselin has 13 catches for 77 yards, and 13 tackles in 59 games.

Collegiately, Gosselin began playing for the Drummondville Voltigeurs (2010-13) with 244 carries for 1,244 yards, and 15 touchdowns.

Then, Gosselin transferred to Sherbrooke (2014-16) with four carries for 42 yards, five catches for 21 yards, two touchdowns, one kick return for ten yards, and 15.5 tackles in 24 games for the Vert et Or. In his final season, he had seven catches for 115 yards, one touchdown, and six tackles in eight games.
