The Toronto Argonauts signed former Texas A&M defensive lineman Tyree Johnson on Monday. The 24-year-old from Washington, D.C., signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 but was released during training camp.

Collegiately, Johnson played four seasons at Texas A&M (2018-21) with 100 tackles, 18 sacks, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 47 games.

In his final season in 2021, Johnson had 31 tackles, 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games. He was named AP All-SEC Second Team.

In his freshman year, Johnson had 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 13 games. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
