Tyrice Beverette makes an interception against Edmonton

The Montreal Alouettes and linebacker Tyrice Beverette agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old from Lakewood, New Jersey, had 77 tackles, one interception, one touchdown, and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Alouettes in 2022.

Beverette tried out for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018 and was one of the final cuts in training camp. In 2019, Beverette signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He made 28 tackles in 13 games for the Ticats.

Beverette played two seasons in Hamilton (2019, 2021) with 43 tackles and one sack in 22 games. In 2022 Beverette signed with the Alouettes.

Collegiately, Beverette played four seasons at Stony Brook (2014-17) with 262 tackles, 14 sacks, five interceptions, 17 pass breakups, seven forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 44 games for the Seawolves.

In his final season, Beverette had 96 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games. In 2015, he was named third-team All-CAA Football, and in 2016 was named second-team All-CAA Football.
