The BC Lions signed Super Bowl champion running back Gregory Howell Jr., former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jake Lampman, and former North Carolina A&T wide receiver Ron Hunt.
Gregory Howell Jr., a 26-year-old from Coconut Grove, Florida, played for the Los Angles Rams in 2021. He had five carries for 11 yards in ten games before a thigh injury and missed the rest of the season. He earned a Super Bowl ring after the Rams beat the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.
Howell signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He later signed with the Houston Texans. Howell played three seasons in Houston with 21 carries for 74 yards and one catch for three yards in 45 games.
Collegiately, Howell played four seasons at Florida Atlantic (2014-17) with 463 carries for 2,424 yards, 22 touchdowns, and ten catches for 96 yards in 38 games for the Owls. In his final season, Howell had 112 carries for 740 yards, and five touchdowns in 12 games.
Jake Lampman, a 29-year-old from East Lansing, Michigan, was on the New Orleans Saints practice squad in 2020. After re-signing with the Saints in 2021, he was released during training camp. It was his second stint with the Saints.
The Saints signed Lampman as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played two preseason games with one catch for 19 yards. He played six regular season games for the Saints with six tackles. In 2017, he played two preseason games with four catches for 58 yards before he was released at the end of training camp.
Later, Lampman signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad and spent two seasons in Tampa Bay. In 2020, he signed with the XFL Team 9 practice squad and later joined the Tampa Bay Vipers. After the XFL ceased operations, Lampman returned to New Orleans.
Collegiately, Lampman played five seasons at Ferris State (2011-15) with 150 catches for 2,225 yards, 25 touchdowns, 45 carries for 323 yards, ten touchdowns, and 13 kick returns for 289 yards in 42 games. He helped the Bulldogs win the 2014 GLIAC Championship.
Ron Hunt, a 25-year-old from Greensboro, North Carolina, signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent. Collegiately, Hunt played five seasons at North Carolina A&T (2016-19, 2021) with 60 catches for 939 yards, six touchdowns, and one tackle in 44 games, of which 25 were starts.
