The Calgary Stampeders and defensive back Brad Muhammad agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Thursday. The 27-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, had 55 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble in 16 games with the Stampeders in 2022.
This will be Muhammad’s second season in Calgary. The Stampeders signed Muhammad as a free agent in April of 2022. In 2021, he played for the Ottawa Redblacks with 14 tackles in five games.
Collegiately, Muhammad played two seasons at Florida International (2013, 2017) with 64 tackles, nine pass breakups, four interceptions, one touchdown, and one blocked kick in 20 games for the Panthers. In his final season, Muhammad had 51 tackles, four interceptions, one touchdown, nine pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 13 games.
