BC Lions release running back Bruce Anderson III

The BC Lions released running back Bruce Anderson III on Friday. The 25-year-old from Ruskin, Florida, had 19 carries for 67 yards, and eight catches for 60 yards in six games for the Lions in the 2022 season.

Before signing with the Lions, Anderson played three games for the Edmonton Elks in 2021 on special teams. He returned seven kickoffs for 170-yards.

In the NFL, Anderson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He spent the next two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad.

Collegiately, Anderson played 52 games in four seasons (2015-18) at North Dakota State with 486 carries for 2,896 yards, 24 touchdowns, 32 catches for 448 yards, seven touchdowns, 52 kickoff returns for 1,360 yards and two touchdowns in 52 games for the Bisons. He is a two-time All-MVFC Second Team (2017-18), and a 2017 HERO Sports FCS All-America Second Team.
