The Edmonton Elks signed former UNLV running back Lexington Thomas and former Bethel University defensive lineman Nick Andrews on Tuesday.
Lexington Thomas, a 27-year-old from Houston, Texas, signed with the Elks in 2020 before the season was canceled. Collegiately, Thomas played four seasons at UNLV (2105-18) with 631 carries for 3,551 yards, 40 touchdowns, 43 catches for 491 yards, and three touchdowns, and 15 kick returns for 308 yards in 46 games for the Rebels.
In his final season, Thomas had 215 carries for 1,067 yards, 12 touchdowns, 19 catches for 165 yards, one touchdown, and one kick return for 14 yards. Thomas was named to the First Team All-Mountain West after carrying the ball 211 times for 1,336 yards, 17 touchdowns, and eight catches for 143 yards.
Nick Andrews, a 24-year-old from Ruston, Louisiana, played at Bethel University in 2022 with 23 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 11 games for the Wildcats. After the season, he played in the 2023 Tropical Bowl, a postseason College All-Star game held at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL.
Before Bethel University, Andrews played two seasons at Peru State College (2020-21) with 31 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in ten games for the Bobcats.
