The Reading Royals signed defensemen Adam Eby to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) on Thursday. The 25-year-old from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has three goals and two assists (5 points) in 29 games for the Vermilion County Bobcats (SPHL).

Eby becomes the second Lancaster native to sign with the Royals after John Murray played for Reading in the 2007-08 season. Eby played one season in the USPHL Premier in 2016 with the Philadelphia Flyers Elite, South Shore Kings, and P.A.L. Junior Islanders. He had four assists in 35 games.

Collegiately, Eby played five seasons at Elmira College (2017-21) with eight goals and 11 assists (19 points) in 107 games for the Soaring Eagles. In the 2020-21 season, Aby helped the Soaring Eagles win the NCAA III (UCHC) Championship with two goals and two assists in 15 games.

In his final season, Aby had five goals and two assists (7 points) in 24 games. After the season, he signed with the Vermilion County Bobcats (SPHL) and played seven games.
