Toronto kicker Boris Bede makes a 46-yard field goal at the 109th Grey Cup

The Toronto Argonauts and kicker Boris Bede agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Saturday. The 33-year-old from Toulon, France, made 43 of 55 field goals (78.2%), 34 of 37 extra points made, and five punts for 203 yards.

This will be Bede’s third season in Toronto. The Argonauts acquired Bede from the Montreal Alouettes on February 13th, 2020 for kicker Tyler Crapigna. In two seasons in Toronto, Bede made 71 of 88 field goals (80.7%), 55 of 58 extra points made, and 91 punts for 3,242 yards.

Bede spent the first five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes before signing with the Argonauts in 2021. In 93 career games, Bede has made 169 of 204 field goals (82.8%), 129 of 142 extra points made, and 596 punts for 21,165 yards. In 2015, he was named a CFL East All-Star.

Collegiately, Bede played three seasons at Tiffin University (2008-10), earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors in 2009. Then, he transferred to the University of Laval (2011-14) making 63 of 78 field goals (80.8%), 124 of 124 extra points made, and 292 punts for 11,536 yards. He is a three-time RSEQ All-Star team and a two-time Vanier Cup champion (2012-13).
