The Reading Royals (26-15-2) started a four-game road trip on Wednesday night. They took on the Norfolk Admirals (9-33-3) from the Norfolk Scope Arena.

This was the seventh meeting between these teams with Reading leading the season series 5-1. The Royals were on a three-game winning streak against Norfolk. That came to an end on Wednesday night.
