The B.C. Lions and offensive lineman Sukh Chungh agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Thursday.

The 30-year-old from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, played 16 games at right guard in 2022. He helped the Lions’ offense lead the CFL in both net offense and points per game.

“I am hungrier than ever for the chance to bring a Grey Cup back to my home province,” said Chungh. “It has been an honor to suit up for the team I grew up watching, especially with the core group of players that are also sticking around. We can’t wait to tackle unfinished business.”

This will be Chungh’s fourth season in British Columbia. He’s played 38 games for the Lions in three seasons. Before signing with the Lions in 2019, Chungh played 69 games in four seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Blue Bombers drafted Chungh in the first-round (2nd pick) in the 2015 CFL Draft. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2018.

Collegiately, Chungh played 38 games at right guard in four seasons at the University of Calgary (2011-14) and made four tackles. Chungh earned both the Canada West All-Star and CIS All-Canadian in 2013 and 2014.
