The Ottawa Redblacks and offensive lineman Hunter Steward agreed to a contract extension through the 2023 season on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, played 18 games for the Redblacks at left guard in 2022. This will be Steward’s second season in Ottawa.

The B.C. Lions drafted Steward in the first round (6th pick) in the 2013 CFL Draft. Steward played 89 games in seven seasons with the Lions.

Then, he signed with Ottawa as a free agent in 2022. In Week 14, he played his 100th CFL game against the Toronto Argonauts. Collegiately, Steward played at Liberty University.
