The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive end Valentin Gnahoua to a one-year contract through the 2023 season on Friday. The 28-year-old from Le Mans, France, made seven tackles in 18 games for Hamilton in 2022.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Gnahoua in the first round (1st pick) in the 2019 CFL European Draft. He played three seasons in Hamilton with 11 tackles, one forced fumble, and one blocked punt in 38 games.

Before making his way to the CFL. Gnahoua played two seasons for the Berlin Rebels (GFL) with 47 tackles and nine sacks in 13 games. Then, he played one season at McGill University in 2016 with 24 tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery in nine games for the Redmen.
