The B.C. Lions signed former Liberty wide receiver Kevin Shaa on Tuesday. The 25-year-old from San Francisco, California, attended the Seattle Sea Dragons training camp. The Sea Dragons drafted Shaa in the first round (6th pick) in the 2022 XFL Draft.
Collegiately, Shaa played two seasons at the City College of San Francisco (2016-17) with 42 catches for 840 yards, seven touchdowns, and one kick return for 28 yards in 22 games for the Rams.
Then, Shaa transferred to Liberty (2018-21) with 82 catches for 1,364 yards, 12 touchdowns, and one kick return for 28 yards in 39 games for the Flames, of which 23 were starts.
In 2020, he was named VaSID All-State Second-Team honoree as one of the top collegiate student-athletes in the Commonwealth of Virginia after making 32 catches for 363 yards, and four touchdowns in 11 games. In addition, he caught three passes for 35 yards in the FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl
After college, Shaa signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He was among the final players released in training camp.
