The Philadelphia Stars released defensive back Bradley Sylve and wide receiver Kahlil Lewis on Thursday.
Bradley Sylve, a 30-year-old from Port Sulphur, Louisiana, battled an ankle injury in 2022. He played four games for the Stars with eight tackles. The Stars drafted Sylve in the 11th round (87th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft.
In 2020, Sylve played in the XFL with the DC Defenders and Los Angeles Wildcats. Sylve had one tackle, one pass block, one interception, and one touchdown in five games.
In 2019, Sylve played eight games with the Birmingham Iron of the AAF with 27 tackles, six pass blocks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. Collegiately, Sylve played five seasons at Alabama (2011-15) with 40 tackles and seven pass breakups. He was part of two Alabama championship teams in 2011 and 2012.
Kahlil Lewis, a 25-year-old from Miramar, Florida, joined the Stars on April 30th but did not play a game. In 2020, Lewis played for the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) with 24 catches for 220 yards, one touchdown, and three kick returns for 71 yards in five games. In addition, Lewis had brief stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Collegiately, Lewis played four seasons at Cincinnati (2015-2018) with 168 catches for 2,116 yards, 21 touchdowns, 12 carries for 151 yards, one touchdown, and 16 kick returns for 297 yards in 48 games for the Bearcats.
He was named Cincinnati’s most valuable receiver in 2016 with 48 catches for 605 yards, and five touchdowns in 12 games. He ended his Bearcats career leading the team in receiving for three straight seasons.
