The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Michigan Panthers (USFL) defensive tackle Kyshonn Tyson on Friday. The 23-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, had 21 tackles and three sacks in seven games for the Panthers in 2022. Michigan drafted Tyson in the 26th round of the 2022 USFL Draft.

Tyson attended Loyola High School and earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior. He began his collegiate career at Grand Valley State in 2017 but redshirted.

He left Grand Valley State and transferred to Garden City Community College in 2018. He made 42 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Broncbusters.

In addition, Tyson played for a semi-pro football team called the Detroit Ravens in 2016. He helped the Ravens win the National Championship and was named defensive MVP.
