Jacob Gaucher scores a goal for the Royals in a 4-3 loss to Adirondack

The Reading Royals (28-18-3) started a two-game road trip on Friday night. They took on the Adirondack Thunder (19-23-7) from the Cool Insuring Arena. This was the eighth meeting of the season between these teams.

In the first period, Adirondack dominated with four goals by Grant Jozefek (14), Xavier Parent (18,19), and Brett Ouderkirk (4). The Thunder led 4-0 after one period and the Royals had 14 shots on goal.

Four minutes and fourteen seconds into the second period, Jacob Gaucher (15) put the Royals on the board. It was 4-1 Thunder. Alec Butcher and Shane Sellar assisted with his goal. The Royals trailed the Thunder 4-1 after two periods. Reading had 17 shots on goal and three power play chances but could not score.

Fourteen minutes and thirty-three seconds into the third period, Yvan Mongo (5) scored for the Royals. Reading still trailed the Thunder 4-2. Evan Barratt and Charlie Gerard assisted with his goal. Two minutes and forty-five seconds later, Shane Sellar (11) scored for the Royals. It was now 4-3. Charlie Gerard and Mason Millman assisted with his goal.

Unfortunately, the Royals lost the game by the final score of 4-3. They are now 3-6-1 in their last ten games and are now on a two-game winless streak.

The Royals finished the night with 46 shots, 0/3 on the power play, and Kaden Fulcher made 25 saves. On the other side, the Thunder had 29 shots, 0/5 on the power play, and Jake Theut made 43 saves.
