The Montreal Alouettes signed former Minnesota Golden Gophers defensive back Coney Durr on Monday. The 25-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was drafted by the San Antonio Brahams (XFL) in the seventh round (50th pick) in 2022. In addition, Durr attended the Chicago Bears rookie minicamp but was not signed.

Collegiately, Durr played six seasons at the University of Minnesota (2016-21) with 144 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, one touchdown, 30 pass breakups (tied for fourth most in school history), and one fumble recovery in 55 games, of which 43 were starts. In 2017, he was granted a redshirt sophomore as he recovered from a torn ACL.

In his final season, Durr made 40 tackles, 1.5 sacks, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He is a two-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention (2019-20), a two-time Academic All-Big Ten (2017, 2020), and was invited to the 2022 Hula Bowl.
