The Toronto Argonauts released defensive lineman Ali Fayad on Monday. The 23-year-old from Dearborn, Michigan, made five tackles and one sack in four games for the Argonauts in 2022.

Fayad signed with the Argonauts as a free agent on September 2nd, 2022, after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

Collegiately, Fayad played five seasons at Western Michigan (2017-21) with 164 tackles, 33.5 sacks, three pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in 55 games for the Broncos.

In his final season, Fayad made 40 tackles, 13 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC.
