Toronto Argonauts sign QB Cameron Dukes and WR David Ungerer III

The Toronto Argonauts signed former Vegas Knight Hawks (IFL) quarterback Cameron Dukes and former Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver David Ungerer III on Thursday.

Cameron Dukes, a 24-year-old from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, played for the Vegas Knight Hawks (IFL) in 2022 completing 99 of 171 passes (57.9%) for 1,103 yards, 27 touchdowns, and five interceptions in eight games. The Knight Hawks finished fifth in the Western Conference with a 6-10 record.

Collegiately, Dukes played five seasons at Lindsey Wilson College (2017-21) completing 769 of 1,227 passes (62.7%) for 10, 439 yards, 114 touchdowns, 21 interceptions, 436 carries for 1,316 yards, and three touchdowns in 49 games, of which 45 were starts for the Blue Raiders.

He finished his collegiate career winning the 2020 National Championship, a three-time All-American, three-time conference offensive player of the year, and a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which goes to the top football student-athlete in the nation.

David Ungerer III, a 27-year-old from Pullman, Washington, caught 16 passes for 225 yards, and one touchdown in 14 games for the Ticats in 2022. He played three seasons in Hamilton (2019, 2021-22) with 33 catches for 456 yards, and two touchdowns in 38 games. The Ticats drafted Ungerer III in the second round (11th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft.

Collegiately, Ungerer III played five seasons (2014-18) at Idaho with 116 catches for 1,225 yards, ten touchdowns, one carry for nine yards, one touchdown, 14 kick returns for 232 yards, and 36 punt returns for 341 yards for one touchdown in 34 games for the Vandals.
