The Philadelphia Eagles and defensive end Brandon Graham agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2023 season on Friday. The 34-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, had 31 tackles, 11 sacks, and one pass breakup for the Eagles in 2022. In the playoffs, Graham made three tackles and one sack when the Eagles went to Super Bowl LVII.
This will be Graham’s 14th season in Philadelphia, which ties the great Chuck Bednarik for the most seasons played with the Eagles. The Eagles drafted Graham in the first round (13th pick) in the 2010 NFL Draft.
In 14 seasons as an Eagle, Graham has 423 tackles, 70 sacks, and eight pass breakups in 178 games. He is a Super Bowl champion (LII), Second-team All-Pro in 2016, and was selected to the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl. During the Eagles’ Super Bowl run in 2017, Graham led the defense with 9.5 sacks, including stripping Tom Brady in Minnesota when the Eagles beat the Patriots 41-33.
“I wasn’t interested in going anywhere else,” said Graham to Eagles writer Dave Spadaro. “This is my home. I love everything about the Eagles, about being part of this family, and I’m excited for what we’ve got going here. I can’t wait to get it started again.”
Collegiately, Graham played four seasons at Michigan (2006-09) with 138 tackles, 29.5 sacks, three pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks in 46 games for the Wolverines. He was the first defensive player in school history to be voted Bo Schembechler Most Valuable Player twice (2008, 2009).
In addition, Graham was named Big Ten Most Valuable Player, First Team All-American, and First Team All-Big Ten in 2009. In 2008, he was named Second Team All-Big Ten.
