The Calgary Stampeders signed former Texas Longhorns defensive back Chris Brown on Tuesday. The 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In his final season at Texas in 2020, Brown was a team captain with 47 tackles, one interception for 22 yards, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in nine games. In his final game against Kansas State, Brown made a career-high 12 tackles and one pass breakup. He was named Second Team All-Big 12 after the season.
Brown’s breakout season came in 2019 when he made 46 tackles, one interception for ten yards, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in ten games. In the 2019 AT&T Red River Showdown versus No. 6 Oklahoma, Brown made five tackles.
Brown played five seasons at Texas (2016-20) with 108 tackles, one sack, three interceptions for 32 yards, 12 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 44 games for the Longhorns.
